Suspended as a Habitual Offender

Recently, Orange County released the dispositions of thousands of traffic ticket cases from late 2009 - 2011. The error for not reporting these citation dispositions is not important. The concern is that the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, upon receipt, has done the due diligence and sent out suspension letters for those drivers that now meet the requirements for suspension. The good news is that there may be a way to undo the suspension.
Often times past citations, especially those that cause a suspension, can be modified to avoid the suspension. Even if the suspension has already begun relief can be had by motion.
When a suspension is being issued by the Department it will send out a letter notifying the driver of the impending suspension of driving privileges. It is best to seek an attorney to try and avoid the suspension as soon as the letter is received. However, there is no time frame for which this can be done.
The probability of obtaining relief often depends on which county the infraction occurred in. Because the request is discretionary the court can grant the motion or deny it without worry of an appellate reversal. Discretionary issues are very rarely overturned on appeal. Therefore, the probability of success depends on the court's predisposition to these type requests.
The bottom line is that most people cannot well survive without transportation. If a suspension is pending or in effect the driver should seek out an attorney that can give an honest assessment of the situation and what can be done.

    Damn....I should have found this article before having my license suspended because of a traffic ticket Toronto....
    Now I know that the best thing to do is to hire a specialized lawyer to beat the ticket but ....no one was born with this knowledge...I will definitely do this with my next ticket.

Royalty Has It's Privileges

The saga of Drew Dyer seems to have come to an end. Drew was cited for careless driving, a civil infraction with a fine of $166 . According to the Sentinel, Drew ran a stop sign, lost control of his car, and ran it into the side of a house at a speed great enough to cause $20,000 worth of damage. Then, he and his friend(s), after making contact with the home owner but before police arrived, fled the scene. I am now working on the "Drew Dyer Motion to Dismiss." All future "Leaving the Accident Scene" cases will be asking the court to dismiss the case or reduce to careless driving. I like Buddy Dyer. I think he has been a good mayor for Orlando. Why You Need Car Insurance

I can remember as a kid going out to the closest "fly-by-night" insurance company and getting the bare minimum insurance coverage that would make my car legal.  Heck, I didn't have much money but I had a car and I wanted to drive it - and did I.
